Jay Som is the musical project of songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Melina Duterte. Known for her lush, intimate soundscapes and deeply personal songwriting, Jay Som has become one of indie music’s most distinct voices. Following her acclaimed albums Everybody Works and Anak Ko, Duterte has spent the past few years expanding her production and engineering career — earning GRAMMY-winning credits with boygenius and collaborations with Lucy Dacus, Troye Sivan, and beabadoobee. Her latest album, Belong (via Lucky Number), marks a bold new chapter — a record that embraces collaboration, creative evolution, and the search for self within the modern indie landscape.
