Sydney-based rock band Decapitators have spent the last year since their formation forging a cult-like following in the dingier parts of Sydney’s Inner West for their dark and harmonically intense brand of rock. Their debut single “Crystal Math” is a dynamic dancy guitar onslaught, which showcases vocalist Ivan Wowk in a rhythmic chanting chorus and echoing guitar layers; a track self-described as “dynamic, eerie, playfully dissonant and shrouded in breathy mystery.” With a sound reminiscent of UK garage rock bands of the 80s and 90s, Decapitators’ first official track sees them bursting onto Sydney’s rock scene with a fervour. The track is accompanied by a hypnotic, grungy, Donnie Darko-inspired music video that perfectly encapsulates the stormy sentiment of the song.
Decapitators is the product of a year-long trip to Mexico by two South Coast NSW friends. With no intentions for the music beyond writing songs on cheap guitars to pass the time, the jams quickly became anthems of the trip, and subsequently sentimental souvenirs. After some years of reprising these tunes every weekend upon reunion, Ivan (rhythm guitar and lead vocals) and Thorne (bass and backup vocals) began to dream of audiences beyond their immediate drunken social circles, and recruited two friends, one old (Matt on lead guitar and backing vocals) and one new (Tom on drums) to bolster the ranks.

Valentina Brave’s vintage rock, murder ballads and soul anthems come directly from the underworld. These are transformative songs that will spit you out on the other side of a journey that may begin in suffering, but ends in melodic freedom. Brave makes vulnerability her ally, a powerful medicine in these times. An artist worth witnessing, Brave recently shared the stage with global luminaires Michael Franti, Jackson Browne and Juanes at Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival when Franti invited her to perform for his main stage closing set. With overwhelming response, it was a landmark moment in the evolution of powerhouse vocalist, improviser and world class artist.

Produced by ARIA nominated musician Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin), the EP, as the title suggests, is indicative of what grows out of human heartache. Tenderfoot believe that the best music speaks for itself, and their debut record does just that. With a nod to classic acts like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Ryan Adams; Tenderfoot have created a sound that is unaffected. Fusing their organic approach with modern influences, like Coldplay, has resulted in a debut record that has garnered a strong early interest.
John Vella, Tenderfoot's front man and principal songwriter has a clear knack for melody and arrangement and brings with him his experience as a musician and composer for Audio Network. Vella is joined by Joel Burton on bass and Anthony Donlon on keys to round out the group.
On stage, the band is the real deal. The musicianship is world class, the chemistry is infectious, and Vella's voice remains original and centred. The boys have an upcoming EP release due out this July.

LAVRENCE, from the Queer fringes of Sydney has arrived. Posing the question - why exist quietly when your true self is just waiting to shine? The singer-songwriter was ecstatic to share the universe he has lovingly created.
Growing up in a music obsessed household, LAVRENCE’s taste for performance was quickly established as he’d race home from school each day to perform “Spice” by The Spice Girls (dressing up as either Ginger or Posh). He later honed these skills at a performance arts high school where he studied singing, dancing & acting.
His debut single “Shine” was received with a great response from media and fans alike. Premiered via Purple Sneakers, they described the song as “pop at its absolute best; purposeful, strong, stylistic and moreso than anything, empowering.”
“Discovering LAVRENCE was like discovering a part of ourselves we were to intimated to approach, yet when we did, it became incredibly obvious that this was exactly what we'd been missing.” – The Eye Creative
“a glittery, 80s-tinged ode to empowerment on a single that'll make you feel comfortable and warm if you so need it.” - Pilerats
